Mix with other Reducers for Humid Conditions
Add 4020 Reducer to 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer when panting in condition of ~ 70% humidity or more.
Mix 4020 Reducer with 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer in small increments.
Mix ratios are generally:
Add 4020 Reducer to 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer in small increments, starting with ~ 10% 4020 Reducer added.
4020 Reducer is not meant to be used alone, that is the only Reducer used to thin paint. Rather, 4020 Reducer is mixed either with 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer.
Adding 4020 Reducer to 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer does not create a pot-life. However, 4020 Reducer rapidly flashes water from paint, so if left open paint will thicken due to accelerated evaporation.
Thin paints with a 4020 Reducer mix that are only intended for usage during the next 24-hours.
Long-term storage, even when capped airtight, is not recommended for paints that are mixed with 4020 Reducer.
Reducer mixes made with 4020 Reducer added to 4011 Reducer or 4021 Reducer may be capped airtight and stored indefinitely.
4020 Reducer may be used to surfaces clean of oils prior to painting.
Wiping substrates such as plastics with 4020 Reducer prior to paint ensures application to a clean surface.
Allow enough time for 4020 Reducer to fully flash off substrate before applying paint.
Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after use. Do not ingest.
When spraying or sanding, use a properly-fitting NIOSH approved respirator per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Skin contact: Thoroughly wash with soap and warm water. Wearing gloves is recommended.
Eye contact: Rinse with clean water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Use in in well ventilated areas and wear a NIOSH approved respirator.
